Advanced Social Worker - Family Support & Safeguarding Teams

Job Introduction

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Advanced Social Worker with a specialism in Court proceedings to join our dynamic Children, Families & Education Service.  


Positions available : 1 Permanent Role & 1 Fixed Term contract 6 - 12 Months


The Service

The Children, Families & Education Service provide social work/care support and intervention with children, young people and their parents/carers. This includes Children in Need of Support, Protection and Care, including Care Experienced, Children with Disabilities and Young People who offend and/or are at risk of exploitation.


Your Role Will Include

  • Managing a complex caseload involving children, carers, and families requiring support and guidance.
  • Leading safeguarding assessments and interventions in high-risk and complex cases.
  • Providing reflective supervision and mentoring to less experienced staff.
  • Chairing professional meetings and contributing to practice development.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely case recording in line with data protection policies.
  • Acting as a practice educator (or training to become one) for student social workers.

 

The Ideal Candidate will have/be

  • Qualified Social Worker (Social Work England registered)
  • Practicing at Experienced Social Worker level (Band 10)
  • Strong understanding of relevant legislation and safeguarding procedures
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development
  • Ability to demonstrate confident decision-making and risk management

Working Arrangements:

This is a fully office-based role with some opportunity for hybrid working.
