Assistant Tean Manager - Adult Care and Support

 

30 hours per week - working pattern to be discussed at interview.

 

Office attendance is required minimum 50% of contractual working hours.

 

Your new role

 

This is a great opportunity for a highly skilled, experienced and motivated social worker and supervisor to join our Adult Care and Support Team.  

 

The post holder will provide professional support to staff, leading on practice development to improve performance and quality of service delivery and ensure integrated, multi-agency working is at the heart of improving outcomes for adults with care and support needs.  You will demonstrate a high level of competence and confidence in the full range of social work tasks, particularly in relation to Adult Safeguarding, adults with complex care and support needs, mental capacity assessments, DoLS and partnership working.

 

An experienced assistant team manager, you will support the team manager and be responsible for the day-to-day management of social workers and other practitioners, enabling them to make effective decisions and be professionally resilient to ensure they make safe and effective outcomes for our residents.  You will undertake supervision, prioritising resources, monitoring and evaluating service delivery, disseminating best practice, managing individual performance, report writing and supporting practitioners to represent PCC in court when required.

Who is the person summary:  

 

You will be a passionate, experience and motivated social worker who puts the customer at the heart of what you do.  With experience of providing highly skilled supervision and extensive experience of managing staff, you will be a qualified social worker registered with Social Work England.  You will be responsible for the writing or supervise the writing of complex reports and be able to support, educate and develop practitioners to their full potential but taking necessary steps to address issues when required.  You will have a sound knowledge of applicable legislation including the Care Act, the Mental Capacity Act and Adult Safeguarding legislation.  You will manage complaint investigations, have robust recording and report writing skills and have excellent interpersonal and reflection skills with the ability to support practitioners to apply theory to practice.
