Hours: This is a casual contract - there are no set hours - you will be work as and when needed including work at weekends. (12 hours shifts (1 hour break))

We are currently offering opportunities for passionate and dedicated nurses to join the team at Harry Sotnick House, a beautiful nursing home based in Portsmouth
Harry Sotnick House is a 46 bed nursing home, spread over 2 units and is rated as Good by the Care Quality Commission. At Harry Sotnick, we deliver a broad range of healthcare services to older people with mental and physical health needs, offering long term dementia care.
This is a highly skilled role where you will require an in-depth knowledge of long term conditions associated with ageing, manging complex multiple morbidities and fraility. You will be responsible for deciding on appropriateness of care plans and assessing the quality of care being delivered by junior staff to ensure that health care is fully met. You will decide on the appropriateness of clinical and non-clinical issues that need reporting for monitoring purposes as well as deciding whether care planning and delivery of care enables residents to exercise choice and control.
You must ensure that new developments in clinical practice are incorporated into the policies/ procedures. It will be part of your role to decide on quality of care planning and quality of delivery of care to meet required standards for audits.
Who is the person summary:
Educated to degree level or equivalent you will be registered with NMC and have proven experience working in a relevant health or care setting. The ability to provide care and compassion and promote respect and appreciation to service users is required whilst being honest and integral towards staff. With a flexible approach, you will have a good standard of verbal/written communication. The ability to converse at ease with residents and their families and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post. In addition you will be reliable individual who is punctual and organised with good record keeping and IT skills.
