Salary: Dependent on experience - see below
Newly Qualified Social Worker (ASYE): Band 8 £35,235 per annum
Qualified Social Worker: Band 9 £37,937 - £41,510
(You must have completed your ASYE for the Band 9 role)
Pay band and salary will be dependent on experience. You must have completed your ASYE for the Band 9 role. Social Workers with experience are paid on Band 9 and are expected to supervise unregistered staff.

The Service
Through Health and Care Portsmouth, a partnership of local organisations, we are working together to change the way we provide health and social care. Our vision is to support people to live healthy, safe and independent lives by developing and offering services that are joined up and provided in the right place, at the right time.
Within Adult's care and support, we are in the process of further developing our services to ensure that we are delivering a person centred and strengths-based approach. Leaders and staff at all levels will be engaged in this work, to study, redesign, and continuously improve our offer.
What is the role
You will work with adults in need of care and support and their carer's, identifying the needs of the service user, assessing and producing a support plan based on this. You will work in creative and personalised ways to provide support working with the information gained whilst identifying the best resource to deal with the service users' needs and calling on other resources to support you to meet these.
You will work independently, manage your own caseload and be fully conversant with statutory legislation and guidance which you will demonstrate in your day-to-day practice. With experience of working in a multidisciplinary team you will receive supervision and support and be expected to attend regular team meetings.
Who is the person
You will have a qualification in social work and be registered with Social Work England. You will have experience of working with adults, ideally within a fieldwork setting and working within the sphere of Safeguarding Adults. You will have a thorough understanding and working knowledge of the legislation that governs the adult social care role and a comprehensive awareness of practice to safeguard adults and children.
You will have possess robust and comprehensive skills in risk management and the ability to negotiate work flexibly with aptitude for innovate decision making. You can communicate with a diverse range of people, in sometimes challenging circumstances or where there maybe barriers to understanding.
